An American archeologist, Desmond Jordan, moves to Africa, seeking the fabled "Speaking Mountain". This brings him into the middle of the Sahara desert. Is the mountain just a fable or is there something to it?

Nobody knows what secret the Talking Mountain in the Sahara holds, but everyone wants to find out: the American archaeologist Desmond Jordan, his companion Orso, the Foreign Legionnaire Lieutenant Ryker and the Caliph of Timbuktu. So far everyone who has tried this has died. Desmond and Orso, on the run from robbers, find refuge in the oasis of the Jew Sholomon, whose adoptive daughter Parizade falls in love with Orso.
